Tea Picker was an early "make a complete game" project, only taking about a month of spare-time effort. It gave me the opportunity to build from scratch many of the standard pieces of a game: score display, win conditions, start/restart/quit game buttons, integrate marketing into the game, and display a logo while the game loads.
From an educational standpoint, scoring was designed based on real-world information about typical the work of typical tea pickers, from average daily pay, to the need to balance weight of the basket and "fineness" of the shoot plucked. Future plans will include levels that change the weights of different real-world demands on a tea field worker.
