This post is where I’ll keep track of the various learning projects I do. It’s more of a public living document rather than an article. I currently plan to only list nonfiction books that I read, and to use “read” to include both deep reading and light skimming.

- Finished reading The Gardener and the Carpenter by Alison Gopnik
- Continued reading The Truth-Seeker’s Handbook by Gleb Tsipursky at a leisurely pace
- Re-read SCRUM by Jeffery Victor Sutherland
- Crammed lots of other project management resources while taking over a PM class at the college at the last minute.
- Planned curriculum for two lab science classes, a data science class, and a Latin class for middle- and high-school
- Practiced fruit fly breeding and moss cultivation
- Trained on Canvas, an online classroom software used by the college
- Watched first class on Harvard’s online CS50 class (Intro to Computer Science)
February 2018
- Read The Truth-Seeker’s Handbook by Gleb Tsipursky
- Read Being Logical by Daniel Q. McInerny
- Some self-study resources on deep learning
- Upgraded computer for easier data science work (not technically learning, but a tool to make learning easier)
- Research into what it takes to start and run a family foundation and/or small museum

- Read Nudge by Richard Thaler and Cass Sunstein
- Started reading Behave by Robert Sapolsky
- Refreshed knowledge of the history and impact of Myst, and my chess game, in preparation for one-time classes
April 2018
- Prep work to teach classes in lab science, logic, ecosystems (via terraria), and Latin
- Finished reading Everybody Lies by Seth Stephens-Davidowitz
- Re-reading McInerny’s Being Logical along with class assignments (this time taking notes on each section)
- Chapter 7 of Lingua Latina Per Se Illustrata: Familia Romana by Hans Ørberg and the associated chapter of A Companion to Familia Romana: Based on Hans Ørberg’s Latine Disco, with Vocabulary and Grammar (Lingua Latina) by Jeanne Marie Neumann
